Updike Overload

This had been such a fun weekend! On Thursday afternoon, Peters mom flew in for the weekend. She hadn't met Weston yet and they both just fell in love with each other.
We just hung out and relaxed Thursday and watched the Republican National Convention that night. Late that night, Caroline flew in to join us for the rest of the weekend. Friday we started out the day by doing a little doing in downtown McKinney. We saw a mini potbelly pig and now Peter is convinced that will be our next pet. After lunch, I stayed home with Weston while everybody else went to see Obama's 2016. Apparently it was very eye opening and they all recommended i see it. We ate dinner at La Hacienda and it was so delish!

Does this mini taco make me look like a giant?

Caroline's meal: (haha, just kidding, that was for the entire table!)

We all just hung out the rest of the evening telling stories and watching funny you tube videos.
Saturday we went to the local farmers market and picked up some fresh produce and a turtle pie for later on.
While we were there, they had  all these restored buildings and there was an old school house which was appropriate since Peter's mom is a school teacher:

Oh yes, these dudes were walking goats on leashes:

This is pretty much what lunch looked like every day, Weston doesn't mind putting on a show:
Everybody went to check out the guns at cheaper than dirt while I got to stay home and take a nap.

We had some delicious bbq for dinner before heading to Watters Creek to listen to some live music on the lawn. It was a nice relaxing evening.

Sunday, we all had forgotten it was fast Sunday and ate a pancake feast before church (Peter makes great pancakes and I have the best vanilla syrup recipe). We are in a new ward so and thus was only our second Sunday but everything was so organized and we had sine great lessons. After a long nap, we all just hung around telling stories and eating turtle pie :-). Peters mom had to leave on Monday so we took the fam to lunch at a Mongolian Bbq place before Peter had to take her to the airport.

Thanks for coming, Grandma Updike and Aunt Caroline! It was so fun to have family visiting us. It was a relaxing weekend and I think Weston loved being the star of the show. Hopefully we get visitors again soon!
