ps. I would definitely recommend our travel agent, she was super fast, informative, and took care of everything. All for FREE!!!
Leading up to the trip, we kept looking at the weather and it was supposed to be 60% chance the entire time! We were so close to canceling the trip (we had trip insurance) but the day before we were going to cancel, the rain went down to 30%. We decided to take our chances and boy are we glad we did. It literally rained one evening while were at dinner for about 30 minutes. Oh yeah, and the day after we left, it is back up to 80% rain so we really lucked out.
So, our flight left at 6:30 and since it was international, we were told to be there 3 hours early. We thought 3 hours would be enough time so at 3:30 we got up and were at the airport by 4:30. (Yeah, you only have to be there that early if you check a bag, which we didn't. We could have gone an hour later but at least I had time to paint my toenails :)

We had a layover in Mexico City, but we landed around 12:30 in Cancun so we had almost the entire day to play.
Once we landed, we got picked up and were taken straight to the resort.

They gave us the option to upgrade to an oceanfront room and since we only live once, we decided to do it. When we got to our room, it was a little dingy, smelled, and was hot. Our private cabana was busted and this pregnant lady was not happy. So, we went and talked to them and they immediately changed us to an amazing room. Our room opened up to a little porch area with a hammock.
Then, there was a little sandy area with two layout beds which is where I would lay and ready my book while overlooking the ocean.
Then down a couple of steps we had a private cabana that was awesome.
A couple more steps and we were on the beach. It was heaven to wake up to such an amazing view every day.
After lunch and a much needed nap, we went to a show in the theater. It was Mexican night so they had traditional Mexican dancers and music. It was pretty fun.
Peter's favorite part of the evening was riding the mechanical bull.
We went out for a late dinner that evening at the Sunset grill and it was really yummy with a great view.
They had a mariachi band that evening so we hung out, drank some virgin pina coladas and just enjoyed spending time together.
