(Left to right: me, Caroline (Peter's sister), Crystal (Peter's cousin), and Christina (my high school friend!). We had tons of fun. We would always hang out with Peter, his brother John, and his cousin Jesse. We would all get together almost everynight and have an Updike Fest (plus me and Christina). After we moved to Texas and got married, Crystal served a mission for our Church for 18 months. So, we haven't seen each other since we lived together! We recently heard the news that Crystal was moving to Houston! Apparently, Crystal met a Texan boy and decided to get married in San Antonio. We were so excited to go because Peter doesn't have much family here. So, we left Friday afternoon after I got out of school. We met the family and had dinner on the Riverwalk. The best part was listening to the Mariachis sing! Peter and I LOVE listening to Mariachis but we don't get the pleasure too often.
One of my favorite things about the Updikes is that they always love hanging out and playing cards. Even though we don't see eachother too often, everybody gets along and laughs and plays games all night. The next morning, we got ready and went to the San Antonio temple for Crystal's wedding. The temple is so beautiful inside. It is 20 years "younger" than the Dallas temple and we have been wanting to go for a while. While we were waiting outside the temple, Peter got to catch up with his long-lost cousin David (they hadn't seen each other in 10 years!!!)
It was a sweet ceremony and the bride looked gorgeous! After the reception, we stayed the night and came back home Sunday. It was a very short trip (and sometimes felt very long, especially on the 5 hour drive home), but we were glad we could see the family. Enjoy the pictures!
