Kids vacation

This year, we decided to take the kids on a mini vacation before the busyness of the summer starts. The only purpose of this trip is to get some quality time with the kids doing kid things. On Wednesday, we loaded up the car around 6 and started driving down towards San Antonio. 

We made a quick pit stop at Buccee's and I'm in love with that place! 

It took is a while to get there but we were in no hurry. Peters cousin let us stay at their house which was so fun. They had  kids, toys, and an awesome backyard. So much better than staying in a hotel. Thursday morning we went to the children's Doseum. It was a two story museum where the kids could touch with and play with everything! 

The , we met up with the Updikes for some yummy BBQ and headed home for naps. Nathan was so tired that he cried until he threw up which was a first in our family but we eventually got it under control. The rest of he day was spent hanging out with cousins and having dinner. 

The plan was to go to Sea World Friday, but when I checked what time they opened, it wasn't open for the season yet! Lucky for us, it opened Saturday and even luckier for us, our cousins had zoo passes! 

Before the zoo, peters cousin offered to watch the kids while we went to breakfast at Magnolia Pancake Haus. We got breakfast for the two of us and this is what we ended up with!

The San Antonio zoo is small like the Dallas one which is perfect for out little guys. 

They have this little Zoo Train outside the zoo that takes you on a twenty minute ride and it was the boys favorite part of the whole trip. 

For dinner, we went to Big Lou's and bought a 42"pizza to share with our cousins and some friends. 

The next morning, we finally headed to Sea World!

The boys loved the okra whales and the Dolphins. 

The last show we saw was a bunch of rescued animals doing tricks and Nathan was mesmerized. It's so fun seeing things through their eyes. 

We headed home that evening and even got to stop in and see my cousin Misti in temple for dinner! It was a great trip and we couldn't have done it without Lisle and Maryann. 

We didn't go to the river walk or see the Alamo, but we had so much fun together making memories. I loved spending time together. It was the little things that made the trip like singing songs at the top of our lungs in the car (our current jam is Beautiful Drug), or snuggling before bed and talking about out day, or seeing the look on their faces experiencing something for the first time. I love this family of mine.
